About the lodge and live stream

Welcome to Kalahari Salt Pan

This camera is situated in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans of the Kalahari Desert – the destination of Botswana’s zebra migration. The artificial waterhole provides a vital source of water for the migrating herds during this period, while throughout the rest of the year it continues to attract an exciting diversity of wildlife.  Ancient San Bushmen wells can also be found surrounding the site, a reminder of the deep human history of this landscape. The Natural Selection Foundation is a non-profit organisation supporting conservation and outreach programmes dedicated to protecting Africa’s last great wild places. Its mission focuses on conserving land, safeguarding wildlife, and improving the lives of people living sustainably in wildlife areas across the continent.
